Has anyone noticed after clicking on a category, before the page opens there are lots of websites running along the bottom bar - ie yieldmanager, adrevolver, atdmt, doubleclock etc etc? No doubt they are spyware.

I have found these names in my cookies.

Answerbank is riddled with them. And on my pc it often causes AB to hang/freeze.

Anyone else having same problem?

No problems here. Must be something on your computer.

Thanks for your response koster. I am able to identify those names because they are in my cookies. Will probably have to have a good cleanup - and clean out. Thanks again

koster. Hello again. I have done some searching and now know that they are ads which load as cookies when I open Answerbank. I opened cookies and one of these is adecn - any idea how I can remove them. I have deleted cookies but every time I open Answerbank they load again. As said earlier, I see them for about one second, loading in the bottom bar as Answerbank opens. Thanks

koster. Additionally. I have gone to Tools, Internet Options, settings, View Files and then deleted all cookies.

Then opened Answerbank and they are there again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Yes, AB, I had the same problem as you 2 days. Hang/freeze as you call it in the end I turned off and started again, all was OK. Is nowhere safe!
hi gran hope you are well been missing you xx and yes guest sometimes my computer hangs on ab had to get new spyware and avast anti virus recently
Try this:

Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Restricted Sites -> Sites -> Add -> Close.

theanswerbank.co.uk is now in the Restricted Sites zone which means that Internet Explorer will use the highest security settings for it, meaning no popups or cookies.

These instructions are based on Internet Explorer 8, which also has something called "InPrivate" browsing. You can choose to browse "InPrivate" at any time and this means that history, cookies etc. will not be saved.
They are 'counters' - it tells the ad agencies how many times their ads have been looked at.

Those are all tracking cookies, not technically spyware as they are not malicious.

Thanks Ethel and Daffy. Always good advice on here. Cheers.

pinktwink - yea, the hanging up is a nuisance. But I find that it happens randomly. Which leads me to think it is probably website server problems. Cheers
