Boo is an American term for a boyfriend or girlfriend, as in the song "My Boo" or in Nelly's Dilemma, "Even when I'm with my boo"..

usher and alicia keys sang My BOO
Of course, if you go out with a partner who has a serious heart condition, it is advisable not to say "Boo" to them.
it's actually beau, from the French (came to America from French settlers in the deep south, hence its popularity among black culture), its meaning was originally partner (as in "here comes Madonna and her latest beau"), but is usually spent & pronounced 'boo' in rap culture.
has it swapped sexes, then, fairkatrina? You'd think a girl would be belle, like Michelle ma belle...
And probably not wise to say it to any passing geese either.
Now worrying over the deeper meaning behind the old Lobo hit - 'Me and you and a dog named Boo'
Thats where my username came from dundurn, from that song. I named my old dog that and then nicked it for using here.
Hey BOO, seing as it was sung by Lobo, wonder why they didn't call the dog Bool?
