Does anybody know anything about the film version of Artemis Fowl? The IMBD isn't very helpful here - status is 'announced' and the status was last updated in May 2003.

Back In January 2003 they announced that Lawrence Guterman would direct, although he had "Son of the Mask" scheduled to do at the same time. I think that everyone was hoping he would do Artemis first, but it looks like we were wrong.

So, in answer to your question, assuming that he is still involved with the picture, maybe late 2006/early 2007? If it was any sooner, movie websites would at least have articles on who else has signed up. As yet, there is nothing online, so I think we have quite a wait ahead of us.
