Hi,
I bought my car in july and was told of it cutting out every now and then,i was told it has done this from new and was a computer chip fault which was of no great importance to get put right.
In the past 3 week it has been cutting out everytime im slowing down at junction, rounabout etc and has also been juddering when applying my brakes as of its going to stall.
Ive taken it to garage and had sensor replaced filters checked and so on, i did mention to them that it got worse after they fiddled with it,so they plugged it into diagnostic machine but it showed nothing other than my engine tempreture was 12 degrees hotter then it should be, whatever that means.
The garage took it for a run but it didnt cut out.
Please help its becoming a real pain.
Many thanks. ;-)

Thanks. im new to site, how do i do that?
Thats funny but our car had the same problems and we done the same as you...nothing seemed to help, sensors were checked etc and then a young lad in the garage spotted that a plastic pipe had become detached from another pipe he pushed it back together and now its fine,We dont know how so many mechanics missed it.good luck
Click on Motoring in the grey column on the left, then type your question like you did on here
Good luck
it sounds to me like the head may be cracked, especially if its doing it when the engine is running hotter (the heat opens the crack and causes the breakdown) does it do it when running cold?

I would have them check for that

Question Author
never cuts out when cold, when you say head do you mean gasket
cylinder head
Question Author
thanks will get garage to check it out
more likely the cylinder head or gasket, its in that general area, more likely if its doing it when the car is warm. worth gwetting them to check it out, not too cheap though unfortunately.
