Old Sony TV doesn't hold tuning

I have a huge old Sony TV which has tuning problems.

Works fine through the scart...but I don't have digital TV.

No large TV aerial on the property so having to make do with a small TV-top aerial.

It tunes occassionally but will frequently lose its tuning for no reason.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem...

...cable TV, freeview and installing a large exterior aerial ARE NOT POSSIBLE!

Any ideas?! Seems to be something to do with analogue signal?

Seems like your tuner is fritzed, scart works because it sends video direct to your system, bypassing your tuner in the process.  There is no fix apart from getting your box to your local TV repairman, although you could get an old/new VCR, use it as the tuner and Scart the video to your box.  I thank you
