I got a phonecall from one my young neighbours asking if I wanted to go out with them....He said he'd had a fight with his gf (not living together, 2 kids, oldest 3, youngest 8 months). I went outside to wait for the taxi with them, and there comes the girlfriend, with the kids in tow....She said he wouldn't answer her calls, so she had to come down.

It's bloody 10pm!!!! Little Cody was crying when they got there (3 yo), so I took her in my arms, as she knows me, and tried to play puppets while her mother was SHOUTING at the door. I called my neighbour and asked him to come down and sort something out. He did, they shouted in front of the poor kids again (was doing my best nanny impression by then!), then she left with the kids, and poor Cody cried when I handed her back. I'm a little distraught now!!! Does this happen anywhere else, because that's the first time I've experienced anything like that myself!

awww poor you hun not what you needed tonight really was it. How about coming shopping with me on friday and helping me pick those new shoes you suggested lol.
I know what you mean though something similar happened in my street a couple of years back and when there are little babies involved its horrible. My two are safely tucked up in bed and would never dream of getting them out now for any reason what so ever.
You have a heart of gold max well done for helping and making that horrible time for that little one a little better.

red crx- i live in a housing assn. house and i don't do drugs or upset people- like mightylegend said, there isn't enogh "affordable " housing out there- the problem is that nowadays , you have to have HUGE "problems" in order to get to the top of the councils list to get a house. Once upon a time, social housing used to offer a slightly more diverse demographic mix! I say, build more social housing then perhaps my kids might stand a chance of getting a home without having to do drugs or get pregnant!!!
