Why can't they be used in anticipation of a period?

read the pack, can lead to toxic shock syndrome

I read the leaflet that came with it but it just said not to use it in anticipation, not why. Surely if you don't leave it in longer than the appropriate TSS won't occur?

Ouch, I wouldn't obv cause of toxic shock syndrome . . . also I'd imagine it would be very painful i.e you need to oil the cogs lol
