Recording to DVD-r - Urgent help needed!

We have a video camera that uses DVD-ram & DVD-r. If I use DVD-r discs can I record things to it at different times (ie film something then an hour later film something else as you can with DVD-ram) or will I only be able to record in one hit?

I know that the disc will need to be finalised before playing but can I record multiple items before doing so?

Having a bit of trouble using VRO files that DVD-ram records so figured I might use DVD-r if it is easier.

Hope this makes sense!

You will be able to record in more than one session - you can stop and start as many times as you like. What you won't be able to do is erase amything you have already recorded.
