Hi, we've just ordered our 8 year old son a new cabin bed and he really wants a memory foam mattress. Are these ok for kids? Has anyone else's children got one? We've got a combined sprung/memory one and love it, but it is a lot warmer and he does get hot.
thanks x

hiya, i very well thanks. i hadn't been on here for such a long time, got fed up with the weirdos argueing over strange things. I'm a TA now and loving it. How are you doing? x
Doing fine - not on that much either - my home pc is kaput at the moment, so just having the odd look at lunchtime from work. We are all well, kids are on holiday from school just now, so juggling my hours to cover as much as poss. finish at 2.15 today to take them to the pool.
As for the weirdos, it does put you off, but there are a lot of lovely people on here too, so i like to drop in from time to time to keep up with their news. As for the mattress, i tried one of the memory foam ones and I didn't like the sensation, i prefer a really solid feel to the mattress - why don't you let him have a try in yours for a couple of nights, or do you think that you would have trouble getting him back out again afterwards?

well i wanted to let him try ours, its a super king so plenty of room, but my husbands having none of it!
Kick out hubby for a couple of nights - that would go down well! I am sure that at 8, he wouldn't be too keen on staying in your bed for too long anyway- they like their own space.

ooh sounds like a great idea to me, lol!
my niece got a single memory foam and it is quite hard, they work with body heat but as she is so light in weight it didnt work for her.

oh yeah i didnt even think about that, my son's very slim, so i'd imagine it would be similar. x
