How do i remove steri strips

Ive just sliced my finger open on knuckle. Ive been to A&E because i couldnt stop it bleeding. They cleaned it up and applied steri strips, bound the finger tightly, told me not to bend it and said to take them off in 5 days. Can anyone tell me how to take them off. Will they come off in water? Its quite a deep cut, what happens if it has not fully knit together after the 5 days are up, will i just buy some more and apply them?

You just gently peel them off. I`d only do 1 1st just to make sure the wound has closed. If the wound has not healed, I`d go back to the doctor. I`d not reapply fesh ones myself.
