Hi everyone, I know all babies are different but I just wondered what your baby's sleeping patterns are/ were like? Emilia is 11weeks old and has been sleeping through since she was 5weeks, but she would rarely nap during the day. However, in the past week she has started napping for an hour in the morning, 3 hours early afternoon, and then maybe another hour late afternoon before falling asleep and going to bed at 6:30 / 7 only to sleep through until 6am! Now, I am obviously not complaining but I do feel as though I hardly ever see her and am beginning to take it personally LOL

Also, she will be starting nursery at 6months - what sort of sleep pattern do they have at 6months? (again, i know this will vary wildly, but just some ideas).

Hope you and your little (or big) ones are all well xx

Hi Natalie,

I cant for the life of me remember little CRXs pattern though he was sleeping from 7pm to 8am from 6 weeks which often changed as he had growth spurts and then with teething etc.

baby CRX has 2 different routines depending on whether i am at home or my mum is babysitting:

at mums
awake at 9am, bottle then bath then out in fresh air in pram, sleep on and off til
1pm bottle, then play for an hour then out in pram til
5pm, bottle and playing til bedtime bottle at
7pm, then sleep
10pm bottle then sleep til
6am bottle then straight off til
9am

at home:
awake at 9am, bottle then a little sleep til 11.30 then awake and chatting
12pm bottle then awake and chatting / playing with a small nap
4pm bottle then wide awake
7pm bottle then awake
9/10pm last bottle then bed
5.30am bottle then straight to sleep until
9am
has she been getting more fresh air? that knocks Amelia out straight away and she feeds and sleeps so much better.

Thanks Red. She's not getting any more fresh air than usual, I try to take her out every day and we haven't made it out the house yet today. I think it's probably just a growth sprt, my nan says they grow in their sleep :-)

She's fine in herself when she's awake, chatting, playing, smiling, eating, pooing and everything else as usual. It's just that she doesn't seem to be awake that often!
i think youre nans right then hun. If shes perfectly happy in herself then theres no need to worry. Amelias patterns are so different and shes perfectly normal (well as normal as she can be with Mr CRX for a daddy lol)

Amelia has spent most of morning awake squealing at Matthews helium balloon, shes facsinated and talking to it too. I love baby coos :)
oooh meant to ask, as they are so close in age, is Emilia trying to sit up at all? Amelia can lift her head and shoulders off floor and tries so desperately to sit herself up, she looks like shes doing stomach crunches lol. Does Emilia do that, cos i cant remember when Matthew started?

I know! We sit a "chat" for ages, we even had a three way conversation going this morning; she would coo towards her dad, who responded and then turn back to me as if to say "Do you agree with that?". The neighbours must have thought we were barking (or cooing LOL) mad and pretending to be a family of pigeons.
pmsl. yep we do that, but Amelia has her best chats and probably most serious when chatting to her nappy bin!
amelia was talking to my foot yesterday, fascinated by the stripy sock

I'm glad you asked - I wondered what she was trying to do and I looked up on the net the other day (only briefly) and the site link said something about not sitting up until they are 6months so I thought I must have been wrong.... but anyway, in answer to your question, yes she does seem to be trying.

I got her a door bouncer at the weekend but she hasn't quite grasped how to bounce just yet and lifts her legs off the floor and justs swings round in circles. I was in hysterics, but I am sure she will get the eventually. She got very excited when she got hiccups and they made her bounce, but still couldn't work out how to do it without hiccups.
i havnt put Amelia in one of those yet. We had one for matthew, a reall strong one and put a bolt in the ceiling beam so he could bounce all around without hitting anything lol. People keep asking now why we have this huge industrial hook in middle of lounge ceiling, im sure they think its something kinky lol

good to hear that the stomach crunches are normal though itll be a little while before they sit
well i will say you are very lucky. my daughter was exactly the same and i was told by the health visitor that she was getting into her own routine. she continued to sleep all night but cut down to 45 minutes in morning and 1hr in afternoon. i think this is what will eventually happen with your little one. regarding nursery babies tend to have a seperate room to other children so if you tell them her routine they will follow it.
