What is a messerschmitt bayonet ?

All i can tell you is that it is around a foot and a half long with the normal bayonet shape and has messerschmitt written on the blade. The one we have is very old. it was found around 40 years ago in a tip. We have it sitting on the wall in out lounge room.

Monkeyeyes. We have just cleaned it a little where the writing is at the top of the handle and this is what it says.
