Raised about a year ago but still very valid. You should not be able to post in the heading, only in the sub headngs. for example Technology......sub division..Computers, Electronics, Internet. This seems the worst that I frequently use or visit What is the point of creating sub topics unless you have to use them. I seem to remember it was fairly easy to code this functionality, is this not so ?
Plenty of comments in the past I notice on this subject.

I have put this in AB Suggestions as it is nothing to do with Dog Fleas, Central Heating Problems, Robert Mugabe or the cost of Petrol so hope it doesnt cause confusion now people have got used to looking elsewhere.

I agree with you. I have found the trouble with posting where you should often gets fewer responses because some people just don't go there.

I tell you, I wish I was in charge of this site - I see many valid suggestions that would improve it no end just ignored, of which this is one.
Agree.
That would only work properly though if the sub categories covered every possibility within the topic which would be even more unwieldy and nigh on impossible.
Yes I agree !.

Why have a AB Suggestions section if you are only going to be ignored ?.

In wish there was an under 14yrs section for all the children that keep on replying with stupid and ignorant answers.

All the best from Newmarket Farm.

I can see what you mean Suzyboo but I would have thought that Technology as Topic non postable.
Then postable headings that seem relevant such as Computers, Electronics and Internet (although there is a wide crossover here anyway) and then just one more named OTHER (meaning not Computers, not Electronics, not Internet).
The idea originally of sub topics I suspect was so that Questions do not got off page 1 too quickly.

Be nice to have some input from the Web Designer though ?
So every topic should have an 'other' sub category where people post what they now put in the main section? What is the point of effectively just renaming the section?

P.S. code1 The fact that your suggestions are not taken up does not necessarily mean that they have been ignored rather than considered and discounted for some reason (like the fact that very few people agreed with it!)

SuzyBoo you have missed the whole point of the logic tree.

When you have anything divided into Sections and Sub Sections the Section itself is not (or should not be ) an input for data.

When you do your Income Tax Form do you just write everything where it says "Income" ? No you put it where it is broken down in sections detailing the sources of income.

Anyway I didnt want a full blown argument about it just because you accept a completely different view on logic.
last post in News> current affairs - 28/06, last in News > politics 29/06. Hardly worth having them is it , everyone posts under news
Question Author
Still missed the point.......
Everything is in NEWS because you are able to put it there........make it a non postable field and then perhaps they will be put in sub topics and more effective.
