Go in to the tools menu of your browser, choose 'options' or 'internet options' and make sure you have java enabled.

Reboot
Note that Java is nothing to do with JavaScript.

Anyway, JavaScript comes with your browser; no need to update that.

Flash is also something different.
Ooops!
Sorry I should add.

If you want to enable Java, for Java applets on some sites (they're becoming quite rare now, luckily), then do what Ethel says.

If you want JavaScript, then it can be enabled or disabled at the same place Ethel says too. Just note the different name.

But JavaScript is something built into your browser. Not some plugin like Flash or Java.

Went to Internet Options, onto Advanced where ther'e's a menu with ticks etc..

Couldn't see anything with the name of Java?

More help please as am desperate for my musics to play!

AND there's an annoying 'shadow' telling me to download Flash Player....have done this numerous times!!! But the shadow remains; only on this site though!
Just have a look in the options.

On my Firefox, it's under the Content tab at the top (in preferences/options).

It says "Enable JavaScript", and it's ticked.

Are you using Firefox as your web browser? If not, use it:
