RevFunk - you could probably pay less tax if you declared your supplementary income. DJing must have considerable outlay and overheads after all.

If you dj for other businesses - pubs and clubs for example - they will certainly be declaring your wage as a deductible expense.

And there is always the chance the taxman is at one of your gigs.

well im getting the childcare vouchers so that a yes for me. Though it is a government scheme but Im not paying taxes!

Not long ago I was cash in hand ..house
cleaning ..ironing ..hard work ..I couldn't
get any benefit ...so if you work for it keep
it ..but if you are self employed your
accountant will make sure you pay the
least amount in tax ....swings and
roundabouts ....
if my tax pays for my dustbin to be emptied, police , fire etc
the council are stealing from me because my poll tax (never mind the new posh name) says it pays there bill,
as for hospitals , i thought national insurance taken from wages pays for that.
car tax pays for the roads.streetlighting.
