Hi everyone

I am taking a short holiday in Rome soon and just wanted to know if anyone had any experience of good evening restaurants with Dancing facilities.  Also, places I should stay away from (eg: dodgy parts).  Also, anyone know the duration of the flight from Gatwick?

All help greatly appreciated  :o)

By recollection rather than checking, the flight is about 4 hours.  It is a while since I have been to Rome (hm, must go again soon!), so good places will have all changed.  However, walk when you can, as you miss so much in a bus/taxi/tour (providing you enjoy staring at building to the extent I do!).

Also, if you are not in a hotel with a concierge, stop by one of the big 5 star hotels and ask for a recommendation for food and dancing.  It will almost certainly work, and if they don't help you have lost nothing by trying.

Have a great time, the best meal out I ever had has New Years Eve in Rome - 7 courses and dancing!

Not an answer to your question but I went to Rome a few years ago and got a cab from the airport to my hotel. Unfortunatly I dont think it was a real cab and as I was new to the money ended up paying over the odds for a taxi ride.  The man at the hotel told me it was a common thing. So be careful getting taxis.
