Hi, what format of karaoke discs are required to play on a karaoke machine which will show a background video as well as the lyrics, instead of just showing the lyrics?

depends on the machine, some use video CD's and some use DVD's

The machine uses DVD,CD, Picture CD and CDG discs,

I have some CD+G discs but they just show the lyrics

Have you tried to copy the CD+G using your PC cause if you have the software you are using will only copy the lyrics and not the video or the video and not the lyrics.

You will need to look on the tinternet for software to copy the CD+G to CD-R

CDG will only show lyrics and those blocky cartoon characters. For a background video, you need DVD
