I have been surfing on a leading job website for about 6 months now looking for a part time position to fit in with my studies. Why is that recruitment agencies advertise these jobs but they have 'just been taken' when you apply for them, although you've applied for it within the specified closing date? Doesn't that amount to misrepresentation?

Same as travel agents whats in the window is never available lol

I've tried the online agencies and they were pants, much better off finding one local to you
Just walk into a place where you would like to work with your CV and have a chat with the manager- far more likely to get success that way!
Anything online can be a problem. Its like booking flights the problem is they never seem to update things quickly enough .
These agencies seem to have a law of their own.

I went for a position that was listed with 3 agencies, I found out the employer didn't know that they were advertising his job.

It amounts to just a scam, as you send them your CV and then your on the database, and as you said the jobs not even there.

I always ask for my CV back, under the DPA Data Protection Act if an agency ****'s me off.
