From Genesis To Revelation Album Credits

I bought a copy of a new 'collection' album of Genesis' debut album 'From Genesis To Revelation', and I noticed that the album credits gave a credit to Steve Hackett on the songs: 'Where The Sour Turns To Sweet', 'In The Beginning', 'In The Wilderness', 'One Day', 'Image Blown Out', 'She Is Beautiful', 'Try A Little Sadness', and 'Patricia'. Yet Steve Hackett didn't join the band until 3 years after these songs were written. Does anyone know why he has a credit?

I thought the most probable reasons were as follows:

1) Steve possibly played with the band early on or added bits to the songs afterwards.
2) The credit should be to Anthony Phillips, the bands previous guitarist.
3) A simple error on the behalf of the producers.

Does anyone know the real reason?

Thanks.

Thee is some background here:

No mention of steve Hackett as writing credit on any of the songs.

No mention of sonds 'Image Blown Out', 'She Is Beautiful', 'Try A Little Sadness', and 'Patricia' either. Seems they may be early demo tracks.
Found this web site here that has a review of the abum.

As you can see, many of the songs have Steve Hackett with writing credit.

The web site above does say the album has been released on license to other record labels, so my guess is that this "mistake" was made once somewhere, and has been passed on without anyone checking.
