I have a problem with my PC, nearly every time I try to play a video or some music it crashes and all I get is the blue screen telling me that a fatal error has occured, this also happens on some websites that I like to visit, could someone tell me how best to remedy the situation as cheap as possible? Thanks in advance.

ensure you have the latest video and sound drivers installed (these can probably be downloaded from the computer manufactures website) you may also want to make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed which can be downloaded from Microsoft. I'd also make sure that you have the latest adobe flash player installed, available from http//www.adobe.com
Blue screen of death - not had that in years!

What operating system are you using, cos I only ever got it with 98 and the next one (and before anyone comments, yes I know that later OP systems may not work on an older PC)

I'm running Windows XP
is it only with video and music ?
other progs running OK?

if it is ... possibly you have a faulty dimm
music and vid tend to be quite memory intensive ....
if lighter stuff runs OK ... and PC only dies under stress ....
think memory (or very full HDD)
also check the processor heatsink for fluff
