No one band, there's loads of different music including: The Beta Band, Paul McCartney & Wings, Gordon Lightfoot. Two soundtrack albums came out at the time the show was on so it might be worth checking Amazon or itunes if you're after a specific track.

I seem to remember "Connection" by Elastica and "River Man" by Nick Drake featuring quite heavily too.
