I have a (unplayed) Mick Ronson single from 1975, labelled both sides Seven Days. I understand the A side is actually Billy Porter. The etchings confirm that it is only the labels that are wrong. Do I stick it in the bin?

lordy no! take a look at www.ebay.co.uk for the junk that some people sell. Mick ronson was a very influential guitarist playing with Bowie amongst others so there will be someone out there who will pay good money for this. Record prices vary according to rarity condition and (lucky for you) anything unusual so this might just tickle someones fancy

Having the wrong label stuck on a single doesn't necessarily increase its value very much but if the single itself is rare and mint, then it could be worth a bit. I'd suggest searching http://www.rcsetsale.com to see if anyone else is selling something similar, or indeed if anyone is offering to pay some ridiculous amount of money for it.
