How can I remove glue from a pvc window frame? I have hooks on either side of my window to keep the net curtains up, but one of the hook has come away and left a residue of glue there so that I cannot stick a new hook up. Many thanks. Marymint.

try nail varnsh remover or you can buy glue remover in the shops tesco e.t.c. nail varnish remover worked for me
WD40 might remove it
'Sticky Stuff Remover', available from Lakeland Ltd, or discount shops, is made for the job.
try eucalyptus oil - that is sure to shift it. if you have a 'home & bargain' store near you they sell this oil for 59p. hope this has been some help
Beware of nail varnish remover which is quite likely to dissolve the PVC and merge it and the adhesive - some other "removers" may have a similar effect. Isopropyl alcohol is ideal if you can get it. Use any other substance on a test piece, ideally not your window frame but some other PVC object but make certain it is PVC and not some other plastic.

Nail varnish will disolve most plastics but is useful for repairing like materials. I have used it to repair my spectacles when they broke at the `bridge`. I used a little on both pieces to melt and held them together for about a minute, worked a treat and carefully filed and buffed on a mop at work.
White spirits or meths are a couple of good standby solvents for this sort of problem
