Question for the ladeeezzzzzzz...Facial?

Hiya! I'm watching Haunted, and I'm trying to distract myself from an urge to jump behind the sofa...:O(

I'm thinking of having a facial this week...I've never had one though. Have you ladies (or men!) have one? What does it entail, roughly, and how much should I expect to pay for it? I would only want something light, maybe half an hour or so, to get rid of a few blemishes and give my skin a pick-up! Ta muchly!

I had a facial years ago and I can't remember much about it. I had it done in Allders and all I can remember is that my skin felt soft and tight afterwards. It was about �20 at the time so I don't know about now.

It's on ITV3. I know it's not too bad, but I'm very jumpy, and I have to admit I'm cacking myself there!

Hope the cat doesn't jump on me suddenly, or she might find herself flown across the room! lol

Oh, and on the facial subject...lol
My skin's a bit on the oily side, especially when it gets hot towards summer, and I have quite visible pores, so I'd like to sort that out a bit.

I have a T zone. My nose, forehead and chin get so greasy but my cheeks are very dry. No matter what I try nothing helps. By the end of the day my nose has produced enough oil to fill a chip fryer! Lol

lol Tigger! I've got that too, except my cheeks are ok. I still get wee spots around the time of the month (pain in the rear, eh!!!) but don't have any problems apart from that. I would just love to have that sort of "flawless" skin some girls are blesses with, you know? lol My main concern is enlarged pores, and quite a bit of redness too. Blah!

I've got permanent pimples on my cheeks hich won't go away and I usually get the old volcano each month too.

I've been using Olay Regenerist lately. The face wash is lovely and heats up when you apply it. The serum is really nice too and tightens your skin. Its very expensive though so I got it as s treat for myself. The eye gel is even more expensive so I might treat myself next month.

I honestly believe that no one has completely flawless skin. A lot of famous people use products to give that impression. Look at Cameron Diaz. She have appalling skin but she always looks good on screen.

Oh I know about those air-brushed and make-up enhanced people. Some girls DO have what I'd call flawless skin though, I've seen them (cows!!! lol). I realise you can't change the skin you're born in, but you can surely improve it? I've been using Lush products for a week, and I have to say I'm in love with the face cleansers! the one I got is called Angels on bare skin, and it's lovely! Leaves your face squeeky clean, yet not stripped of natural oils like chemical cleansers do. I'm currently testing the moisturisers too. :O)

Where do you get the Lush products from? All I can think of is that shop with all the smelly bath bombs. Every time I walk past it it I get a headache from all the perfumy smells! Lol

There are so many different facials available, using various brands. I personally prefer facials using Dermalogica products, different salons use different products.

You can have anti ageing facials, rehydrating, toning, calming all sorts. Dermalogica beauticians will do something called facial mapping, so they can decide the best type of products and type of treatment best for your particular skin.

These days, the average facial costs from �30 for a basic cleanse, tone and moisture, up to about �100 for more specific treatments.

At the moment, I have CACI treatments monthly, which is a non surgical facelift, using a special machine, which gives the facial muscles a workout, as well as improving skin tone and texture. Each treatment costs about �50, but courses of treatments can be purchased, which work out a bit cheaper.

lol! Yeah, I used to avoid it like the plague because of the smell, but one day I read reviews raving about some of their products, so gave them a go! I'm now officially hooked! lol
The great thing about it is, they also are absolutely lovely (in my shop anyway!) and make you feel comfortable, and will explain everything to you. You can also ask for samples of everything before you buy! I bought the big version of the facial cleanser yesterday, and asked for samples of 2 moisturisers and a shampoo bar, and they were lovely about it, no problem at all. Loving it!!! :O)

Thanks Velvetee! I'm thinking of it more as a one off thing, as I'm very poor! lol I would just like to experience it, and it helps my skin a bit, then all the better!
