I'm throwing a fancy party for some of my friends.  We're going to dress up, smoke cigarettes out of fancy holders....you get the idea.  Anyway, I don't have access to many liquors but was wondering if anyone had any cheap, fancy drink ideas.  Also, if generally anyone had ideas for how to make a good fancy party.

Thanks in advance!

buy a bottle of martini rosso it is about 3 approx,,,mix it with lemonade slices of lemon and ice and make cocktails with it,,orbuy a bottle of dubonnet and do the same,,or even buy a bottle of gin or rum and make a big punch by adding lemonade cheap wine fruit ice,,,whatever you fancy..supermarkets sell their own brand spirits really cheap,,and you can make it go round by adding things to it..you could also get everyone to bring a bottle to the party...gypsy
Make sure you mark clearly on the invitations ELVIS and not ELVES. On another note you can make high class vodka from cheap by putting it through your Brita filter about 15 times, makes it taste like smirnoff black (apparently)

Make some sugar syrup by mixing equal volumes of sugar and very hot water(just off the boil) then allow to cool.  Mix some of this with lemon juice, gin and soda water and you have yourself a nice tom collins.  You can get lots of ready make mixes for margaritas, pina colada etc which aren't too pricy - just add them to your bog standard spirits.

Or... get a few bottles of cheap cava or equivalent fizz for a classy feel to the evening.

Alternatively, garnish everything with straws, a lemon slice and a marashino cherry.  At least it'll look good!

Mars Bar milk drink with brandy in it. Unusual but delicious. Don't tell your guests about the Mars Bar milk, though. Keep them wondering over it.
If it is a fancy party you shouldn't drink drinks, just plain schotch, cognac and so on. a cheap and festive drink is a Wine-spritser, white wine and Sprite. Another one is Bacardi white and mineral water. You could do finnish cocktails. Take a coffefilter, put one blueberry in the filter, pour vodka over it and it is done.  My favorite is whiskey and Cola plus alittle cocao.
Pour some cognac in a snifter and light the top on fire with a lighter (be careful!).  Serve it flambe on a tray to your guests.  They blow it out (and let it cool a bit) before drinking.
