Why is it that some sites dont let you use the back button in the normal way?
Ive just been looking at fish 4 cars for example and after viewing a page the back button menu will not take you back to the previous page but keeps you on the same page .The history shows that there are mulitple 'same ' pages to view and will only let you go to the previous page if you select the final entry .Then you have the same again with the next page.It is very annoying .Is there any way round it?

I think this is where you are not looking at static pages, but ones which have been dynamically created depending on variable criteria.

Ah! Yes - I think thats right. Fish for cars does have variables. Clever you for thinking of it. It never crossed my mind - just thought it was some devious plot to keep me looking at one page.
Thanks

Hi

It's easy to make pages restrict the use of your back button and usually done for security (as in bank's web sites where they don't want your passwords remembered, so it is in your best interests) and where you have entered some details, as in a dynamic page.

The site probably has some links that will take you where you want to go, if not just start again. Bad move by the webmaster though if it drives you away.
