I remember when I was under treatment during an illness at the hospital a few years ago. I had a nurse specialist who had an identical twin sister who worked there too.
My nurse was pregnant.
One day I went for my clinic appointment and saw the nurse, I went up to her, rubbed her stomach and said "and how are you two today?" The way she looked at me ..... it slowly dawned....... I had the wrong sister!!!!!!! OMG I felt myself go bright red, didn't know what to say & then couldn't say sorry enough!
Luckily she saw the error & my reaction and said not to worry but I couldn't leave fast enough!
My nurse - her sister, was just over 3 months pregnant.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
No but my gob was recently left smacked!!

Yes, some people are so rude it leaves me speechless! And passing my driving test recently had me lost for words (a challenge, according to those who know me!)

About wishing the floor to swallow me up...

... I have mentioned this in AB before, but in my 'incorrect' use of the Sat nav, I got a bit lost and took the wrong road in Newport S Wales. I followed a jeep type vehicle up a road, thinking 'this will take me out somewhere'...... yes it did... it took me into the golf course of the Celtic Manner (home of the ryder Cup in nr future!) I followed the care takers jeep!

It was rather embarrasing doing a 3 point turn on a small golf couse road! And yes.... there were golfers playing that day!
A good few years ago when married to my first husband I came home unexpectedly (and, it would seem in hindsight, rather too quietly!) and heard music coming from the bedroom. I went upstairs to announce my return, and on opening the bedroom door was greeted with the sight of my then-husband lying on the bed with his legs thrown over his head, doing to himself what I can only describe as what most men find physically impossible!!! I'm rarely at a loss for words, but seriously...what do you say??? PRICELESS!!! lol.
