A wealthy lawyer killed his wife after learning she was leaving him for a family friend. He slashed her with a knife so much that the pathologist could not count the wounds. He was jailed for manslaughter as he was reportedly suffering from a 'depressive condition'. It has now emerged that his dead wife left him 950,000. What do you think? Should he ever be entitled to anything of his murdered wife's?

What price murder? Could it be 950,000? Makes you wonder!!!!
I'd bump off Mr Boo for 950,000 (sometimes I'd do it for a tenner)

Sadly for me, luckily for him I guess, he's not insured.

But no, in answer to your question, he most certainly shouldn't get hold of that money, it should be used to pay for the trail he had.
the story fudges it a bit - it says he's applying for a cut of the will but doesn't say whether or not the court has decided, or which way. The court could well rule against him.
I love the way the Daily Mail puts "depressive condition" in inverted commas, as if psychiatric illnesses are all make-believe.

And then it fills its pages with hysterical pseudo-science, untested homeopathic wonder cures and diet fads.

What a paper.
It's wrong that I read that and thought 'Lucky Guy' isn't it?
Not another member of the freemasons surely? If Blair can get away with the deaths of 100,000 people and in the next breath be a self appointed saint there is no justice.

Well the Bible is not law as such, but I am sure it says in the First Testament "Thou shall not commit adultery"

If this woman played away, she probably deserved to die. After all, his life would be ruined if she left him.

I hate strumpets.
Abdul - its nice to see that you are as polite and tactful as ever - you tryin to wind us ladies up like you were the welsh yesterday? Was most amusing. By the way, strumpets are a pain in the arse, but i think stabbing them - sorry grating them - to the extent her husband did and then grab all the cash is a tad much. stocks would probably be better.
A partner at Pinsent Masons? They are one of my clients and I know that, as a partner, he was probably charging up to 1000 an hour. I doubt he needs the money.
AB Asks, do you read what you write before posting? "He was jailed for manslaughter..." "Should he ever be entitled to anything of his murdered wife's?"

If he was gaoled for manslaughter, how can he have murdered his wife?
yes, instead of 'murdered' read 'womanslaughtered'
You're misinterpreting the law. He murdered his wife, pure and simple. However, he was convicted of manslaughter (ie. murder without intent).
I'm no legal eagle but as I understand it, murder involves intentional homicide whereas manslaughter/culpable homicide does not. Therefore the phrase "murder without intent" makes no sense.
