Hi Dot, I was wondering if you could help me, please?
I know you're interested in geneology and have some some nifty ways of looking up stuff. Is it at all possible for you to trace a family line to the present day if I give you the name of a woman who died in 1211?

That is unlikely purely from just a person in 1211, but if you know of this person's existance it is likely to be there is a recorded genealogy in existance.
Only ater 1537 (and even 1598 in many Parishes) were there any type of record that contained information on individuals, before that there is very little extant unless they were gentry or above, and then it is rare to find much on females unless they were significant heiresses, but hey, you've got a name (I assume a surname too , they only started around that time anyway), if you still have my email send me what u have, [email protected] if you've not got it now.
