I've noticed recently that wherever my cat has been sleeping it leaves some little white things behind. They look like tiny maggots but don't move and are quite hard.
Does anyone know what they are and if it's normal? TIA

if they look like little grains of rice then it could be a flea problem, get cat to vets though to be on the safe side.

Yes, they do look like little grains of rice, mad. So what are they?
afraid your cat has got fleas. you will need to treat your cat with flea treatment and wash the bedding if possible and you can get sprays for your carpets and furniture. the little grains of rice are the eggs.
i think youre mistaken about them being fleas, i think it is a sign of your cat having tapeworm. the grains of rice are sections of the tapeworm thats made its way out. see here-

If it looks like grains of rice it won't be fleas or tapeworm it sounds like roundworm to me, just needs roundworm/tapeworm tablets, and won't harm to de-flea as well.
Definitely tapeworm,. roundworms are like spaghetti.
It sounds as if your cat has tapeworms. The cat flea is part of the tapeworms life cycle & a source of infection. These worms can be transmitted to humans so if this was my cat I would get it down to the vet, PRONTO! Get the vet to explain the life cycle to you & administer the appropriate drugs because 'over the counter' remedies just won't do the job & therefore are a waste of money. Then you need to keep a diary of when your cat is wormed, flea treated & innoculated. Also when these things are next due, so that you can keep track of these essential healthcare jobs. It is much cheaper in the long run than waiting until you pet is ill enough to show symptoms.
