Think I've just about nailed this month's crossword apart from 35d 'His selfless concern for the well-being of other people. (8)'. My first thought was ALTRUIST, but could the odd way the clue's written indicate ALTRUISM?

Many thanks

Altruism is more correct
...but I'll lay money that ALTRUIST is what they're looking for, on the basis that 'he' is the subject of the sentence and therefore the definition. I agree, it's poor and ambiguous.

I wonder if the curse of the misprint has struck here too; inserting 'is' after 'concern' or omitting the 'H' of 'His' would clarify things one way or the other!

Thanks to you both. On the balance of probabilities, I think I'll go with my original thought.
