Since we know from televangelists and other such folk that so-called natural disasters are a punishment from God for homosexuality or atheism etc, would anyone care to speculate what has got God's goat this time?

Given that the only person to be seriously injured seems to be a student whose legs were crushed by a falling chimney, is it possible that God either hates people who can walk or people attempting to educate themselves.

Other options are that He's objecting to mild blasphemy (Gadzooks and Bl00dy) or possibly the amount of sarcasm on the AB.

Does that mean you'll actually read up on the theory of evolution?
I may do so but I know for certain that I will not believe in it. Perhaps you will call it again as my faith, but I do believe that God created human and all the others. Even Quran tells us (I know you do not believe) that Allah created human as the best of the creations, and by following his commands they can rise above the angels and by not doing so they can become even worse than an animal.

So because of that reason human are very good at adapting to the situation. If Billions years ago, they adapted that somehow to survive then still they were human. I do not believe in Bible's told time story according to which Adam (pbuh) was here about 5800 years ago. That does no add up. So lets see, I have no doubt in one thing that the time would come when people will find out who was right and who was wrong. And I will leave that to it. Even if you do not believe in God, what are you going to get out of that. I can not think of any thing. Would ever thing which Religions stop you from, become acceptable. So then why not believe in something. As I always said that we do not have to see ever thing to believe in it.

I do apologize because at times I have been rude to you. Nothing personal.
These people shouldn't have felt the jerk.

Emma Lewis of Cope Road was among the thousands who felt the tremors, centred on Market Rasen in Lincolnshire. She said: "My partner and I were relaxing on the sofa when it began to move.
Listen !
I apologised for flooding Sheffield, Hull and Gloucester last year </b I think someone else ough to 'fess up, this time !!
S'ok, it was Octavius, we decided that ages ago jack, you're off the hook!
Thank goodness for that.................I was starting with a bit of a persecution complex, there !

"Are we being punished by God?"

No! God is outside of the universe and time and doesn't meddle in the affairs of the universe.

"Doesn't evil and suffering prove that God doesn't exist?"

No! It only shows that we have no true concept of God, God's plan or man's relationship to God and God's plan.

In contrast to believing in the Bible, i believe:

1. That God is that Creative/Causative Force that exists before the beginning of the universe/time and continues to exist outside of the universe and time.

2. That "Force" created/caused the spiritual/soul entities to come into being.

3. The spiritual/soul entities continued the "Creation" with the "Big Bang". And, through evolution and possibly subtle manipulations, have caused the current state of affairs.

4. The spirits/souls choose to inhabit the various physical bodies that they have created in order to experience physical reality.

5. When bodies die the spirit/soul continues to exist and often times reincarnates into another body in order to continue its growth.

6. The purpose of it all is for the spirits/souls (entities) to gain knowledge and experience and to ultimately rejoin or evolve back into the Oneness of God.

i choose

i chose to be born, to live or die,
Even the sex, that would be i;
i chose the race, from which to appear,
Also my wealth, my health and my fear.

i chose my trials and stumbling blocks,
And the legs i would use, in all of those walks;
i chose my sadness, my joy and my love,
i chose to serve and not be above.

i chose this life with all of its dues,
And with each dawn, again i choose;
The experiences for me that wait ahead,
To be alive, or be claimed
