I just read the question from another ABer about feeling her pulse above her navel.  Here's a question:  Do any of you ever HEAR your heartbeat?  This has been happening to me on and off since July and it's driving me crazy!  My doctor said it could be too much niacin in my vitamins or when you're clogged from say allergies or something.  But it never happened before and I wonder if this ever happened to anyone else?

I've often heard my own heartbeat over the years. Never really worried about it. Even worse ... sometimes I'm woken by my bed hitting the wall in time with my heartbeat ... it's just crept closer to the wall and the tiny vibration is enough to knock the headboard against the wall. Had a blood pressure and ecg recently ... routine and nothing to worry about.

Thank you Bob!  I also have had an EKG and ECG and except for my mitral valve prolapse, everything is normal.  It does not sound like the heartbeat from "The Tell Tale Heart" or anything LOL!  It sounds more like what the doctor would hear through a stethescope.  I suppose it's nothing to worry about, but it still is unpleasant, especially since as I've said, it only started happening.  Thank you again!

Also, Bob I wanted to comment on your awful "bed hitting the wall!"  I hope that you are able to sleep well!
If I think about it I can hear my heartbeat.  Once you have noticed it you tend to keep on hearing it!  Nothing to worry about!
True -- thank you FakePlastic......I guess I'll try to not focus on it so much.  Either that or it will drive me mad and than it's no matter anyway!! LOL!  Thanks!
I like hearing my heartbeat. It lets me know that I'm still alive and that Fakeplastic's Led Zeppelin is not too loud. Ha Ha!

Thanks to all of you who responded!  True, it would be worse to NOT hear it -- LOL! -- but it really is quite a nuisance to hear it when all is quiet.  But, since all the tests results are normal -- I shall try not to worry and try not to think about it!  Things are always worse when you concentrate on them!  I'm just glad I'm not the only one that this happens to!  Cheers to all!
