Your local Citizens' Advice Bureau should know. Give them a ring and ask - you will probably need to go in and talk to someone.

After probate has been granted it is a simple job for the excecutors to transfer the property without a solicitor if there is no mortgage to be paid off. Simply speak to your District Land Registry Office who will tell you which two of their forms to print off from their website, how to calculate their fee and how to obtain form SD 60 from the revenue. If there is an existing mortgage which is the subject of re-mortgage, go to a couple of questions below this one - Removing Wifes Name from Mortgage - and read the 5th answer which tells you what to do.
