I have just got Word 2000.  Could someone please tell me where the Format Painter is?  It is not on the Standard Toolbar which is where I would expect it to be.  Thank you.

Use Shift Control C to copy formatting and Shift Control V to paste it.

 

Or... go to Tools > Customise and click on the commands tab. Under Format, find the format painter in the right hand window of the dialog box and drag it to one of your toolbars.
