Climate control/air con

What's the difference between "climate control" and "air con" on a car?

Also, what difference will I notice (apart from a slight drop in mpg) between having my air con "on" and "off" whilst my heater control is set to "warm/hot"?

Climate control automatically regulates the temperature and keeps the vehicle temperature at a temp selected by you.

Air Con - is just that, air conditioning. no regulation or controlable temp

Zacsmaster - what exactly is it about the air con that heps with de-misting?

Also, I was told that the gas used in car air con systems contains some kind of lubricant and that it would assist the function of the system to use it all year round so as to prevent the gas losing it's lubricating properties.

So was what I was told about the gas lubricating the moving parts of the system incorrect?

it is advised to use your air con as much as you can (temperature permitting of course) as the seals tend to go if its not used.
