How difficult would it be for an informed amatuer to undertake the following repairs on a 2002 petrol Ford Focus Estate?:

1. Replace rocker cover gasket (527.72).
2. Replace a bulkhead heatsheild and repair failing suspension arm bushes (553.51).
3. Replace a power steering pump (417.17).

The above numbers in brackets are the prices quoted for the work (including VAT) from a local Ford garage.

So, are the above works reapairable by a non-expert or would I be better off taking it to a non-Ford garage?

Thanks

Are they taking the p**s on the first item or do you mean the cam box gasket. If it is the rocker lid gasket you can do it yourself in 15mins. The other two items certainly use a local non ford garage. FT
FT the only other poss for that quote of money is the Head gasket, but ive been in the trade for 15 years, and 527 for a rock cov gskt, Im workin in the wrong place man!!!!!
I`d report them to the Fair Trading for overcharging. It`s high time someone did.
