I will be flying from Perth Aust. to Dublin via Singapore and Franfurt. As there is there is no duty free allowance between EU countries, would I be able to buy duty free on arrival at Dublin even tho travelling from Frankfurt, on the strength of the journey originating outside the EU???

Not 100% sure, but I don't think there are any facilities to buy duty free on arrival at Dublin - the airport website makes no mention of it.

Even if there were I suspect you would not qualify.

You should be able to buy duty paid items fairly cheaply in Frankfurt.
You arrive from Frankfurt (EU) into Dublin (EU) - you do not qualify for duty free even if there is such a facility there (which I don't know).

Thanx to dzug and Karl, looks like it will be worth buying something in FRA if the prices are reas. Cheers...
Check whether you can carry duty in transit via FRA, as Singapore is a great place to buy duty free. On entry into the EU, you can use your allowance and then freely carry it round the EU (other than potential security issues on flights!)
Buy it in SIN where it will be cheaper. Europe does not have duty free on arrival like they do in Perth - sometimes a few things but not much.
