Many thanks to Shaneystar2 and Tichfield for showing me the way...I have ALL the unclued lights now, and in hindsight it was really starightforward! But I must have done something wrong elsewhere, for te following are still a pain in the neck! HELP again!

11a Hidden in the clue- look for a run of letters starting AL....

25a Also hidden...look in comedian (backwards<)

35a What you do on the slopes and hit a high shot

40a Sticks out from a pier and is black y

3d Ornery....American slang...OR (gold)NE (Tyneside) RY (railway)

21d when you get the letters for 25a you will see the answer which ends with UP

26d Five star is the highest , this is the lowest.
