My wife has booked us a week away at the Ritz Carlton in Doha but I am now a little worried!! It seems that you cannot take alcohol into the country which precludes buying duty free at Heathrow, but is Qatar a 'dry' country? Will they serve alcohol at the hotel? Staying on Club level that includes "five food and beverage presentations per day" Any one been there and knows what this entails as it usualy includes cocktails each evening. Worse case scenario is I have a detox with no booze for a week!!

The website of the Qatar Tourism Authority states that 'beers, wines and spirits are readily available within the confines of the major hotels':

ON THE OTHER HAND, as your wife booked it, is she trying to tell you something?
