can anyone give me advice on planning this trip as cheaply as possible. Is there a specialist travel company who can help?

I want to go to Dubai at Xmas (no hotel needed there) then onto Thailand before flying back to England.

Just buy a ticket with Emirates - a very good airline. If you don't have to go via Dubai and could go via another UAE country then Ethiad are also very good.

ask your friend in Dubai [ you said no hotel needed there] to check prices from there, it might be cheaper to buy your onward ticket in Dubai.
