I want to get the home cinema sound in my home but I have a good dvd player/recorder, so can I just buy the surround speakers on there own and connect to the TV( Samsung) or Dvd player? Cheers Jakesi

yes if the dvd player/ tv has a 5:1output

You'll probably also need a surround amplifier - DVD players don't tend to have them built-in.
