My laptop came with a 3 month free subscription to Norton security. I already set up Bullguard which I pay for.

Does anyone use Norton and if so is it worthwhile taking them up on the free trial?

first .... this is a bag of worms ... the regs could well stay away from it

bullguard is a franchised scanner (mfrs get a cut when you actually buy their trial version) which isn't regarded as a serious contender in any of the mainstream sources

norton has a certain (bad) reputation .... although to be fair it's possibly unfounded in the latest version.

my advice would be to see out your subscription .... then read a couple of PC mags and see what they are recommending at the time
haysi thats an good informed proper techy answer

Norton is rubbish! I lost a hard drive to a virus whilst apparently being protected by Norton. I now use AVG.

Thank you for your answers and hiya Honky!!

Bullguard has worked ok for me since last September and so I will stay with it. I checked and the Norton licence does not appear to be time barred and so if I need to, I may try the free trial after September.
