I'm being told by AVG that my pc has a trojan in System Volume Information.  I can't find S V I to remove trojan - running the anti-virus doesn't work.  I've had this trojan before and removed it by turning off system restore, then running AVG but the little treasure is back.  Any other suggestions gratefully received!  Also, anyone any idea where it comes from?  Spybot doesn't find it.  Thanks in advance!

This is usually in the root of the C drive (C:\).  You need to have 'Hide protected operating system files' unchecked and 'Show hidden files and folders' enabled in the View tab of 'Tools','Folder Options' in Explorer (file explorer, not internet explorer).

start>control panel>system>system restore tab

tick 'turn off system restore on all drives' and click ok.

'ok' the warning that pops-up.now run your anti-virus - which now has access to the sys vol area.

when completed remember to untick 'turn off system restore on all drives'
