It's so unfair that at age 27 I still feel sick with worry about girls I like.

I feel like I'm about 17 again, and this shouldn't be happening to me, but I think I'm getting quite obsessed (in a NON CREEPY way) with a girl at work. I really like her, and I'm convinced she's perfect for me. I've been spending a fair bit of time together, and we go out to lunch most days, just the two of us. I can't tell if she's interested though, and it's driving me nuts. How on earth am I
A. Going to find out she's interested
B. Actually ask her out. This is someone I work with so it's going to have to be during the day.

Well good for you, at least you now know where you stand and the ball is in her court. If she changes her mind she will know you are/or were interested. Believe me you don't want to waste your time with blind hope.

You will of course get over it, as I'm sure you know.

Thanks WoWo. I quite liked the hope though..Now I just feel physically sick!

Getting turned down was pretty bad, but it'll get better, I know that.

The worst thing at the moment is not knowing what to do next. Part of the risk of asking her out is this lose/lose situation that I'm now in. If I stop speaking to her for a while then I run the risk of looking sulky, or that I only wanted to speak to her with a view to going out with her and not as a friend. If I do speak to her just as normal, then it looks like I'm either trying to come onto her again like some sort of stalker, or that I didn't really care too much.

I want to explain that to her, but this option is even worse, because it would be the action of an oddball.
supernick, let me hug u better.

shes silly to say no to u, i bet u r a really nice guy, all shy and reserved.

phoar, come to the velvet lady, i will not reject u. i`ll show u a good time,

i`m waxed and waiting...............

I'm sorry to hear that sweetheart.

Nothing I can say to make it better but you know you'll be alright. You're going to feel like cr@p for a little while obviously but I promise it will all come good in the end.

And hey, have I ever lied to you?! ;0)

Take care toots. xx

Never a liar China, but with your crackpot TMNT ideas I'm finding it hard to trust your judgement. ;)

London, Velvet, just a short hop from Essex. She is missing out a lot.

We all went out for work drinks on Friday for this guy's leaving do. He was all over her, and I started panicking like George McFly in Back to the Future. There was no chance to do it until she left and I caught up with her a bit down the road to ask, spraining my ankle in the process whilst tripping over the kerb. Smooth. She said she had just started seeing someone, but I think it was a fib to let me down gently.
So you've hurt yourself too?!

Christ love, what are we going to do with you?!

Would a roast dinner, tequilla and a lower form of consciousness be of any help to you? I'll dance on the table.... And fall off.

She may have been letting you down gently, but then at least that shows she cares and still wants to be mates probably.

I doubt it's any consolation but I need to let someone down too and I feel horrible about it and I don't even like the bloke that much so I'm sure she didn't feel great about saying no to you. I just wish I could think of a way of doing it... I hate being growed up, why can't someone else tell him?!
bless u

hop on the train to colchester, i`m in the newtown area. i`ll kiss your sprained ankle better

then i`ll whip your sorry arse with my leather whip
you spend so much time together .Why don"t you ask her direct, what she thinks about a more serious relationship with you.Maybe you should tell her about the feelings you have for her.The worst thing, that could happen is,that she says NO.Then you have not to waste any time anymore.Unless you are looking for a friend.Talk about it anyway.I believe communication is the most important part between people.I am just an middleaged woman,I could be your mama.I hope, everything works out for you and you will find your way.
