Royal Bank Of Scotland Account Charges

Hi, I have a basic current account with the RBS(ThinkBanking account). I opened it as part of a deal to repay debts using Gregory Pennington as I had a low credit rating.

They set me up with 2 accounts, 1 for bills, 1 for the hole in the wall. They charged me 12.50 for the handling of bills.

I finished paying off my debts around 14 months ago and I've only recently realised the 12.50 was for the handling of bills(which I haven't had for 14 months!). That means they've been taking this money and doing absolutely nothing for it.

At the time I was led to believe the charge was due to me having a low credit rating and only being able to get an account through them.

Is there any chance I can claim back any of the charges? Will they add another charge of some sort if I cancel this one?

I'm stupid. After much searching I find that this may in fact be a standard charge for such an account. Currently looking for another bank. Any comments would be welcomed. Thank you.

I got lucky. At least I can rate my own answer! What a quick reply I gave!
I would speak to the bank and tell them that you would like to claim the charges back, see what happens, go to
moneyexpert.com and see what it advises under reclaiming charges
