Ok I have 3 scars in my thigh, they are long and thin, stretching from the top of my thigh to my mid thigh. They arnt really that noticable from a distance (when I have a tan, even less so) but they are slightly raised and discoloured. The biggest one at its very widest point is just under 1 cm in width. There are 2 bigger ones and one really thin one.

I have a few questions

1) I have Neosporin scar solution (the silicone strips) and Ive been using them and they didnt really work but then I read the box and found out I was using them wrong! They are meant to cover the scar on all sides and I was doing it so it just about covered the scar, I wanted to make them last because you can only get them in America and I thought that the longer they were on the better, but it did improve them a bit, it just didnt work how it was supposed to, so Im going to use what I have left properly and probobly have a friend in the US post some more over to me. So does Neosporin work (when used right)?

and 2) what do you think about the appearence of the scars? I mean, if I wore a skirt so you could see the ends of them and you saw me on the street would you think it really shocking or nothing at all? And guys, any opinions? Huge turn off or not a problem? haha

Oh and before anyone asks, I got them from jumping off this cliff into the ocean.. everyone does it its just a lower part of the cliffs in Dublin and I jumped off but obviously you cant jump too far because you might get swept out to sea. I either cut my leg on the way down or when I landed but I hardly even felt it until I saw it!

i would say dont worry about them. However i have a scar fro a hip relacement that has always been livid and i feel embarrased about them.
Have you tried bio oil?
I swear you used to be able to buy those gel patches in boots
I had some keyloid scars (raised and red) and used a product called Cica-gel. Youn can get in some chemists on line. It's fantastic. You can hardly see them now.

Thanks guys
and I tried Bio Oil but it really doesnt work. The gel patches you can get in boots are elastoplast and I wouldnt say they work as well as one designed for scars

Meglet, is this what your talking about?

Sorry don't know anything about the removal of scars but I do have a 12 inch scar running from just under the left hand side of my fib cage to the top of my left shoulder blade and its about 1/2 inch thick. It has never caused me any problems or issues regarding how others viewed me or it. Men certainly didn't have a problem with it, lol. I wear bikinis on holiday and if anyone should comment on it I am happy to tell them what happened.

I look on it as being part of me, a 'battle' wound if you like, definitely not something I let bother me and if it bothers other people then that is their problem.

Be proud, we are all flawed gems.
I'm with warpig on this - I would have no problem at all with scarring on a lady's body - anyone who does is too shallow to be bothering with!
Sugar cult - I'm with warpig and Andy - all scars tell a story and yours is a pretty interesting one. I have a 10cm long 3cm wide scar at the top of my leg, plus a ceasarian scar and assorted other 'battle' wounds. I have never had anyone comment on them apart from 'how did you get them?'
LOL, yes hellyon the 'how did you get that' question. I have had lots of fun with that too. I have a circular scar on my upper chest from a chest drain, someone I didn't know very well asked me how I got it and I said it was from a bullet wound while I was 'working undercover', he then pulled up his trouser leg and sported a better scar stating 'an old injury I got when dropped behind enemy lines in Vietnam' to which I responded by showing my bigger scar stating 'shark attack of the coast of Australia', none of it true for either he or I but it did amuse us.

haha, I hide them because Im still in school and if it got back to my sister then my mom would find out and probobly kill me for jumping off a cliff....
But Im leaving soon so I wont be in the same school as her, and Ill be free to tell the story =]

When I was on holiday I was wearing a bikini on the beach with cousins who know the story and when asked how I got it I said it was a shark attack
haha

what about dermatix?
LOL sugarcult, fair enough, its better your mum doesn't find out you have been jumping of cliffs, well not for another few years yet, and even then she will probably have something to say about it!
Sugarcult, sorry for the delay in replying but yes, that's the stuff. Its very good, you cut it to size and stick it on. You need to wash it daiy and can also buy the Cica-Care gel (not sure why, maybe soap would be fine). It really worked for me and its not too expensive given the results.

Good luck.
Hi

My GF as a long scar on her thigh and i find it sexy, love running my fingers along it. Also she never tries to hide it, she wears skirts, shorts and bathing costumes. they are part of you now, learn to love them.
