Hi
My dad purchased a flat off the council in 2002. He was the council tennant since 1997 but he lived with his girlfriend in a different house so I've lived in the flat since 1997.
In 2002, my dad & I decided to buy the flat, we both went on the mortgage (I had to, my dad was 60 at the time, now retired) and I have paid it from day 1, as well as all bills, taxes etc in my name...

My dad now wants his name off everything, deeds mortgage and all, and is willing to sign and agree to anything to get it done....

Question is :- Is MY name on the deeds or just the mortgage ??

Also, whats the quickest and best way to get this done...

Many thanks

If your name is on the mortgage it is certainly on the deeds.

The mortgage company will have to agree to his removal from the mortgage and will need to be satisfied you can pay the mortgage.

So firstly contact the mortgage company and the local land registry for advice.

Or see a solicitor.
