I recorded a set of clips at the Russian Winter Festival last year. I have had a message from the first group featured, telling me that I don't have permission to use this and should remove it. Does anybody know who owns the copyright to such filmed images - the director/producer (me) or the artist?

You certainly don't have the right to broadcast it in a public arena like YouTube.

People who do have the right to do so have either paid for the broadcasting rights or have express permission to do so.

Okay, I've found the answer. It is an infringemnet of copyright to record a copyright work. So looks like I'll have to take it down!
