our daughter is 9 going on 10 and for the last three months (always at the end of the month) she developes a head cold... have taken her to Eye Ear and Nose clinic and they have given her antibiotics and stuff to stop runny noses.....is this common for kids at this age to have so many headcolds.... I know its vague but has anyone had a similar experience with their kids?

My Son - although at a younger age (roughly from age 2-7ish) suffered similar synptoms. He had red cheeks and his nose ran constantly .He had a cough and sore throats frequently and was generally run down. I cant recall exactly what the process now ( 15 years later )was but I worked out that it all could have been down to an allergy of some sort. With the help of the dietician at the hospital we eventually tracked down the culprit as being a variety of colourings. Contrary to what others had experienced ( hyperactivity) my son slept more and was quite poorly. Once we withdrew anything with E102,E104,E110 from his diet he got better . Even now - if he has anything brightly coloured he gets red cheeks and has to lie down ..feeling rotten. Its worth checking -not everyone reacts the same to allergens.
Why don't you ask your doctor?
